About
Custom Templates is an integration that adds new functions to the Home Assistant Jinja2 templating engine. Several functions deal with translations: they return the translated state of an entity, the translated value of an attribute, the translation for a given key, or all available translations. The language argument is optional and defaults to the language set in Home Assistant. Other functions evaluate text as a template, check whether an entity is available, and merge dictionaries, where the last value passed wins for shared keys. Two more functions read entity registry attributes and list the ones available, which are separate from state attributes. It runs locally and is configured in the YAML configuration file, where extra languages can be preloaded for the translation functions.
