About

iPhone Device Tracker is a custom integration that detects iPhones connected to the local network, even in deep sleep. It sends an mDNS message to each defined host, and a device that is on the network responds, which creates an ARP cache entry that the integration reads. Each tracked phone becomes a presence entity, which can feed the person integration to show whether someone is home. Everything runs locally, and each device is added in the UI with a unique name and an IP address. The consider home timeout, the wait before a device is marked as not home, can be changed per tracked device, and the IP address can be changed later. A static IP address for the phone is recommended.
