About
Long Time State Storage (LTSS) stores Home Assistant entity states in a PostgreSQL database, with TimescaleDB support. It is meant as an alternative to the InfluxDB integration for space-efficient long-term storage of chosen sensor states, and not as a replacement for the recorder. States go into a single table, which becomes a hypertable when TimescaleDB is present, and the chunk interval can be configured. PostGIS adds direct access to geolocation data, and the integration detects which extensions are available and builds the table to match. Include and exclude filters select what gets recorded by domain, entity or name pattern. Because the data is plain SQL, it works with the SQL sensor and with Grafana, and it is set up through a YAML configuration entry with a database URL.

Supports
From the Marketplace Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
Setting it up
Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant. It is then set up in configuration.yaml.
From the README
NOTE: From version 2.0 LTSS requires at least Home Assistant 2023.3
NOTE: Starting 2020-09-13 attributes are stored with type JSONB instead of as a plain string, in addition a GIN index is created on this column by default. At first startup after updating of LTSS, migration of your DB happens automatically. Note that this can take a couple of minutes and HASS will not finish starting (i.e. frontend will not be available) until migration is done.
