About
hui-element is a dashboard card that loads built-in cards, entity rows and picture-elements elements in places where they normally do not work. Home Assistant picks what to load from the type setting and where it is placed, so a conditional entry in an entities card becomes a row rather than a card. This card lets an entity row such as section be used as a card, or a glance card be placed inside an entities card. The configuration changes the type key to a row type key and sets the card type to the hui-element custom card. Some rows need their internal type name, though a default row type may let the card work out the right one itself. With card-mod, hui-element is transparent, so styling it works as if styling the element inside it, and it replaces the older custom:hui- trick.
