About

auto-entities is a dashboard card that fills other cards with entities chosen by filter rules. It builds an entity list from include and exclude filters, then passes that list to a card defined in its own configuration. A filter matches entities that meet all of its rules, and rules can use wildcards, regular expressions, numeric comparisons and time elapsed since an event. A template filter can also supply entities from a Jinja template, and attribute values that hold several parts can be matched by key or index. Results can be sorted per filter or all at once, by methods such as name, state, area or last changed, with options for reversing, case-insensitive and numeric order. It is installed through the Marketplace, or through HACS on 2026.10 and older.
