About
search-card is a dashboard card that searches Home Assistant entities from a Lovelace view. It adds a search box to the frontend, so entities can be found by typing instead of browsing through views. Results can be narrowed by domain, either by including only chosen domains or by excluding some, though the two filters cannot be combined. The number of results shown and the placeholder text are configurable. Custom actions can also be defined, where a regex match on the typed text triggers a service call. It is installed through the Marketplace, or through HACS on 2026.10 and older, and set up in the card configuration.
