About

Sidebar Organizer is a dashboard card plugin that controls the layout and grouping of the Home Assistant sidebar. It lets sidebar items be sorted into named groups, reordered by drag and drop within a group or across the sidebar, and moved to the bottom. Groups can be expanded or collapsed, and a setting chooses which groups start collapsed. The look of the sidebar can be changed too, including the header title and the colors of dividers, borders, scrollbar and background, with separate values for light and dark modes. Settings are reached by pressing and holding the profile item in the sidebar or from the profile page, and are split into appearance, panels and raw code. It installs through the Marketplace or HACS, and the version has to match the Home Assistant release.

Sidebar Organizer v4.0.0 and above is compatible with Home Assistant 2026.6.0 and newer.
For older Home Assistant versions, use Sidebar Organizer up to v3.4.1

Group Menu Items: Organize sidebar items into specific groups for better clarity and separation of content.
Reorder Items: Drag and drop to reorder items within groups or across the sidebar.
Expand/Collapse Groups: Expand or collapse groups of items to save space and minimize clutter.
Manage Bottom Items: Move specific items to the bottom of the sidebar for quick access.
Default Collapse Settings: Choose which groups of items should be collapsed by default for a cleaner view.
