About
Raspberry Pi GPIO is an integration that reads and controls the GPIO pins of a Raspberry Pi from Home Assistant. It continues the original Home Assistant integration, which was removed from Core in version 2022.6. It adds binary sensors for reading pin states, switches for controlling pins, and covers such as garage doors. A cover uses two pins, one that detects whether it is closed and one that triggers a relay to open or close it. The integration finds the GPIO chip on its own when no path is given, so a Raspberry Pi usually needs no path. It works locally and is configured in the YAML configuration file.
