About
Memory is an integration that gives Home Assist conversation agents persistent memory stored as plain markdown files. It uses no vector database and no embeddings, and it works with Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or any conversation agent that supports tool use. It registers as a Home Assistant LLM API, so the agent gets tools to save, read and delete memories. A sensor holds the full memory index, which is added to the agent's system prompt automatically. The same save, read and delete actions are available as plain services for automations and scripts. Each memory is a markdown file in a storage folder that can be read, edited and version-controlled, and setup in the UI asks for that storage path.
