About
Hue Smooth Dimming extends the core Philips Hue integration with smooth dimming from non-Hue buttons. It adds raise, lower and stop actions, so an automation can dim a light while a button is held and stop when it is released. It also sets brightness, color, color temperature or scenes while lights are off, so they turn on without unwanted color or brightness flashes. Targeting a Hue Group instead of separate lights lets the bridge sync them with group-wide Zigbee messages. It runs locally, is added in the UI, and needs a Hue Bridge V2 or Pro with the Hue integration already connected. The bridge reports the target brightness at the start of a transition, so a separate action is provided to read a light's real brightness.
