About

Rademacher DuoFern is a Home Assistant integration that controls DuoFern devices through a DuoFern USB stick. It talks to the stick over the serial protocol, either through a local USB port or a network serial server, and works locally without a cloud or gateway. Devices appear as covers, lights, climate controls, switches, sensors, binary sensors, numbers, selects, buttons, texts and events, including settings such as sun, wind and dusk automatics, and slat and running time values. A pairing action accepts a device's 6-digit code, and an option can list unknown devices that send frames in the Home Assistant inbox. Devices can also start automations through device triggers, and a diagnostics file can be downloaded for bug reports. Setup runs in the UI and asks for the serial connection, the system code of the stick and the codes of paired devices.

From the README

A custom Home Assistant integration for Rademacher DuoFern devices via the DuoFern USB stick. Communicates directly with the USB stick using the native serial protocol - via local USB or a network serial server - no cloud, no gateway, fully local.

Forked from @MSchenkl and extensively rewritten to aim for a complete re-implementation based on the FHEM modules 10_DUOFERNSTICK.pm and 30_DUOFERN.pm, aiming for near-complete feature parity with the FHEM DuoFern module and the Homepilot / SmartHome Box.
