About

HWMON Temperatures reads hardware temperatures from the Linux hwmon subsystem and shows them in Home Assistant. It adds temperature sensors for detected components such as CPUs, storage drives and motherboard sensors, and it runs locally. Sensors are found automatically, and their names follow the hardware type, for example core names for processors or model names for drives. The update interval is configurable during setup in the UI and can be changed later in the options. The matching Linux kernel modules must be loaded for the hardware, and a virtual machine needs the hwmon directory shared from the host. A diagnostics file can be downloaded for bug reports.

From the README

Monitor hardware temperatures from /sys/class/hwmon in Home Assistant. This integration provides real-time temperature monitoring for various hardware components including CPUs, storage devices, and other temperature sensors accessible through the Linux hardware monitoring subsystem.

  • Automatic Discovery: Automatically detects and monitors all available temperature sensors
  • Real-time Updates: Configurable polling intervals for temperature readings
  • Device Classification: Intelligent naming and categorization of temperature sensors
  • Multiple Device Support: Monitors various hardware components simultaneously
