About

Weather Alerts is an integration that provides a sensor with weather alerts from alerts.weather.gov. It relies on the vendor's cloud service and is set up in the Home Assistant UI. Location is chosen by latitude and longitude, then by a zone code, with an optional county code and optional marine zones. Settings cover the sensor update interval, the API request timeout, and an option to remove duplicate alerts that share identical descriptions. Alert icons can be configured, with a default icon and icons assigned to specific event types. Installations that used the older YAML platform configuration are migrated to a config entry, which creates a new sensor rather than reusing the old one.
