About
Perplexity is a Marketplace integration that connects Home Assistant to Perplexity's cloud for conversation and AI tasks. It adds a conversation agent, marked beta, that can be chosen in a voice assistant, plus an AI Task platform for suggestions in the Home Assistant interface. Instead of picking a model, the agent uses Fast, Low, Medium or High presets built on the Perplexity Agent API, and each preset can be given an optional reasoning effort. The assistant can control entities exposed to Assist through the Assist API and read live entity states to answer questions about the home. It also handles timers and delayed commands on voice devices that support timers. Setup happens in the UI with a Perplexity API key, and a diagnostics file can be downloaded for bug reports.

From the README
Perplexity integration for Home Assistant.
- Conversation platform (beta)
- AI Task platform
- Fast, Low, Medium and High Perplexity presets (Agent API); see what each preset does
- optional reasoning effort configuration (minimal, low, medium, high, extra high) for every preset; leave it empty to use the preset default
- control of entities exposed to Assist through Home Assistant's LLM tools (the Assist API), the same way the built-in AI integrations work
- live entity state through the GetLiveContext tool, so the assistant can answer questions about your home
- timers and delayed commands (for example, turn off the light in 10 minutes) on voice devices that support timers; Home Assistant's default agent runs the delayed command when the timer ends
