About
Smart Irrigation calculates how long to run an irrigation system to make up for moisture lost through evapotranspiration. It weighs rain and snow against the moisture lost, can take forecasts for the coming days into account, and keeps a running balance called the bucket. Multiple zones are supported, each with its own configuration, and the integration can open and close valves itself with cycle and soak passes, or leave that to automations and the blueprints it ships. It adds sensors, binary sensors, buttons, numbers and a skip-on-precipitation switch, plus actions to calculate zones, update weather data, set or reset buckets and multipliers, and generate a 12-month watering calendar. It also provides a configuration panel, a dashboard card, skip conditions such as rain, frost and wind, and a choice of weather service between Open-Meteo, OpenWeatherMap and Pirate Weather. It works locally and is set up in the UI.

From the README
This integration calculates the time to run your irrigation system to compensate for moisture loss by evapotranspiration. Using this integration you water your garden, lawn or crops precisely enough to compensate what has evaporated. It takes into account precipitation (rain, snow) and moisture loss caused by evapotranspiration and adjusts accordingly. If it rains or snows less than the amount of moisture lost, then irrigation is required. Otherwise, no irrigation is required. The integration can take into account weather forecasts for the coming days and also keeps track of the total moisture lost or added ('bucket').

- 🃏 A dashboard card, served by the integration: what each zone is short of, how long it would run, when, and why not, with a button to water on the spot.
- 🚰 Direct valve control. Smart Irrigation can open the valves itself, with cycle and soak (the same water in several passes so clay takes it in), a pause between zones, and a watchdog that closes a…
