About
ABB/FIMER PVI VSN REST reads ABB, FIMER and Power-One PVI inverters through a VSN300 or VSN700 datalogger. It talks to the datalogger's REST API over the local network and maps the data to the SunSpec format before creating sensors in Home Assistant. It detects the datalogger model and finds the connected inverters, meters and battery storage devices. Options cover the polling interval, failure notifications at runtime and at startup, an optional recovery script, and custom device names. Expected nightly outages can be handled by auto-detection or a fixed daily time window, so dropouts while the plant is off are not reported. Devices offer triggers for unreachable, not responding and recovered states, and setup is done in the UI with host, username and password.

After setup
- Scan interval (seconds)Fetch interval: 30-600 seconds. Default: 60.
- Enable runtime failure notificationsNotify when device becomes unreachable during operation.
- Enable startup failure notificationsNotify when device is unreachable at Home Assistant startup.
- Failures before notificationConsecutive failures before notification. Range: 1-10. Default: 3.
- Recovery script (optional)Script to run on failure (e.g., 'script.restart_router'). Leave empty for none.
- Expected outage handlingHow connection failures are treated when the plant is expected to be off. Auto-detect: a dropout with the sun low and the inverter producing little is not reported; a built-in rule is used for the first nights while the integration learns when your logger switches off and on, then the learned values take over. Fixed window: failures inside a daily time window, set in the next step, are not reported.
