About
Insteon is a built-in integration that connects Insteon home automation devices to Home Assistant over a local connection. It supports an Insteon Hub, in both version 1 and version 2, as well as a PLM modem attached by USB. Devices appear as binary sensors, climate controls, covers, fans, lights, locks and switches. Actions cover All-Link management, such as adding or deleting links, adding default links, and loading or printing the All-Link databases of a device or the modem. Other actions trigger Insteon scenes on or off and send X10 commands for all lights and all units. Options allow overriding a device's category and subcategory, setting X10 devices by housecode and unitcode, and adjusting the dimmer steps of lights. Setup is done in the UI, and Home Assistant can discover the modem on the network.
