About

MeshCore Chat adds a sidebar chat panel and a persistent message store for the MeshCore mesh radio network. It works as a companion to the core meshcore integration, which drives the radio, and builds the chat interface, message history and search on top of that integration's events and services. The panel covers channels, direct messages and a contact list, with unread counts, delivery status and per-conversation search. It also includes a trace dialog that visualizes message routes, live device telemetry, neighbor tables, and a network-wide node discovery view. Options set the maximum messages kept per conversation and how many days messages are retained before being pruned. It runs locally and is added through the UI, and administrator rights are needed for actions such as radio reconfiguration and issuing commands.

From the README

A sidebar chat panel and persistent message store for the MeshCore mesh radio network that was written by an agent, thoroughly reviewed and carefully tested by a human.

Works as a companion to the core meshcore integration — install both. This integration does not drive the radio itself; it adds a chat UI, message persistence, and search on top of the events and services exposed by the core integration.
