About

Jokes is a Home Assistant integration that fetches random jokes from several online providers and shows them in a sensor. The sensor reports a status as its state and keeps the joke text, an identifier, the source and the last update time as attributes, so long jokes are not cut off by the state length limit. If one provider fails, the integration tries another enabled one, and the refresh interval in minutes can be changed. Two of the five sources serve unfiltered adult content and are switched off by default, while the settings let providers be turned on or off later. A language choice applies only to JokeAPI, since the other sources are English-only. It relies on the vendors' cloud services and is set up in the UI.
