About
Jokes is a Home Assistant integration that provides a random joke through a sensor. The sensor updates with a new joke every minute, and the joke is held as the sensor's state in the form of a text string. Jokes are pulled from a random dad joke API, so the integration depends on an online service to work. It is set up in the user interface and is installed through the Marketplace, or through HACS on Home Assistant 2026.10 and older. The author describes it as a simple project made to develop and test a dev container.

From the README
This is the simplest but somewhat useful and funny integration I could think of. It even doesn't use a single entity, just one state returning a string.
Every Minute, a sensor provides a joke. Done.
