About
Kamstrup 403 is a custom integration that reads data from Kamstrup 403 heating meters into Home Assistant. It works locally and adds sensors, with most of them disabled by default to spare the meter's battery. Communication goes through an optical eye placed on the meter and connected to the machine running Home Assistant over a serial port. The port can also be a socket connection, for example through a remote serial bridge. Options cover the scan interval, which defaults to one hour, and the serial read timeout. Heat energy and flow sensors can feed the energy dashboard, and a high resolution heat energy sensor is available for meters that support it. Setup is done in the UI.
