About
Calendar Event is a helper that creates binary sensors from the events active on a Home Assistant calendar. Each sensor turns on when a chosen attribute of a currently active event matches text set in the helper. The attribute can be the summary, description or location of the event, and the text match ignores letter case. The comparison method and the calendar to watch are chosen in the setup form and can be changed later in the options. Unlike the built-in calendar state, it handles several overlapping events in the same calendar, because all current events are compared locally every minute. It does not refresh external calendars such as CalDAV, since that schedule belongs to the calendar's own integration.
