# E3DC Remote Storage Control Protocol (Git)

> E3DC Remote Storage Control Protocol (Git) is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 778 installs sharing analytics, needs the vendor's cloud and was last updated October 25, 2026.

E3DC Remote Storage Control Protocol (Git) is a custom integration that connects Home Assistant to E3DC home storage systems. It talks to the unit over the RSCP protocol and is based on python-e3dc. It adds binary sensors, buttons, numbers, sensors and switches, covering things like battery charge, autarky, power limits, weather regulation, sun mode and wallbox settings. Actions can set or clear power limits, set the power mode, set the wallbox charge maximum and start or stop manual charging. Authentication works with either an E3DC portal account or the offline local user on the device, plus an RSCP encryption key. Options include creating battery devices and a polling interval for power and status values. Home Assistant can discover the device on the network, and it is added as a custom repository in the Marketplace.

## Supports

- **Uses the vendor's cloud**: Needs an internet connection and an account with the vendor.
- **Found by itself**: Home Assistant spots it on the network and offers to add it.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Add its repository to the Marketplace as a custom repository and install it, then restart Home Assistant and add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### E3DC authentication type

- **Authentication type**: Portal-User: Use your E3DC portal account (email + password). Local user: Use the offline RSCP user (username is fixed to 'local.user', password configured on the device under Personalize → User profile → Password for offline RSCP user).

Also asked when at the discovered e3dc device step.

### Discovered E3DC device

- **Username**
- **Password**
- **RSCP encryption key**

### E3DC credentials

- **Host or IP address**: IP address or hostname of the E3DC device on your local network (e.g. 192.168.1.100).
- **Username (E3DC portal email)**: Your E3DC portal email address (only for Portal-User).
- **Password**: Portal-User: your E3DC portal password. Local user: the offline RSCP user password set on the device (Personalize → User profile → Password for offline RSCP user).
- **RSCP encryption key**: The RSCP encryption key configured on the device (Personalize → User profile → RSCP password). This is the encryption key, not a login password.

### Updating E3DC credentials

- **Authentication type**: Portal-User: Use your E3DC portal account. Local user: offline RSCP user (username: local.user).

Also asked when changing the connection.

Also asked when changing the connection.

### After setup

- **Create battery devices**
- **Update interval**: How often power and status values are polled from the E3DC (5–60 seconds). Daily statistics stay on their own schedule.

## Entities

- **Binary sensors**: Additional source, Power limits, Manual charge, PV derated, Emergency power active, Emergency reserve reached, Waiting for weather breakthrough, DC/DC converter connected, Power meter connected, Battery module connected, PV module connected, Energy management connected, and 20 more
- **Buttons**: Toggle charging, Toggle phases
- **Numbers**: Max charge current, Battery-to-Wallbox SOC limit
- **Sensors**: Derate feed above %, Derate feed above W, Installed battery capacity, Installed peak power, Maximum AC power, System maximum charge, System maximum discharge, MAC address, System minimum discharge, Autarky, Battery charge, Battery net change, and 151 more
- **Switches**: Weather regulation, SmartPower powersaving, Sun mode, Schuko, Battery before wallbox mode, Wallbox battery discharge in sun mode, Wallbox battery discharge in mixed mode

## Actions

- **Clear power limits**: Clears any active power limit of the E3DC unit.
  Fields: E3DC Device ID
- **Set power limits**: Sets the maximum charge/discharge limits of the E3DC unit.
Fields: E3DC Device ID, Maximum Charge (W), Maximum Discharge (W)
- **Set Wallbox Charge Maximum**: Sets the maximum charge limits of the Wallbox
Fields: E3DC Device ID, Maximum Charging Current (A)
- **Control manual charging**: Starts or stops manual charging, set charge amount to zero to stop charging if it is running. Use this feature at your own risk. Take conversion losses, battery wear local laws/regulations and the E3DC warranty in mind when using this action. There is a rate limit on this call (once every few hours).
Fields: E3DC Device ID, Charge amount (Wh)
- **Set Power Mode**: Sets the power mode of the E3DC unit.
Fields: E3DC Device ID, Power Mode, Charge power (W)

## Troubleshooting

- **Diagnostics**: Downloads a diagnostics file to attach to a bug report.

## From the README

> This integration will interface with the E3DC Storage systems supprting the RCSP protocol. It is based on python-e3dc. This repository delivers the latest features via HACS. You can use it for testing until I can get the integration accepted to HA core (no timeline for that, sorry).
>
> If you encounter problems, please file an issue at the integrations issue tracker. If possible, add a diagnostics dump always. This is important also for enhancements if they target new data or information to be retrieved from the unit to see what it has to offer. Always check that dump if you want to further redact information in it.
