It has 1.6k installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 26, 2026. Victron MQTT Integration connects Home Assistant to Victron GX devices over the MQTT protocol. It communicates locally and is set up in the UI, and Home Assistant can discover the device on the network by itself. It adds sensors for batteries, solar, grid, inverters and EV chargers, along with binary sensors, numbers, selects, switches, buttons, times and updates. Writable controls cover things such as inverter mode, EV charger current limit, charger current limit and generator start settings. An operation mode setting chooses between read-only entities and the full set including writable ones. Other options include SSL, a username and password, an update frequency mode, a list of excluded devices and simple entity naming for a single Cerbo. No vendor cloud in between. - **Found by itself**: Home Assistant spots it on the network and offers to add it. - **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS. - **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months. ## Setting it up Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services. ### Connect - **Elevate tracing for topic**: For debugging purpose only: If substring is in topic those topics will have full traces - **Excluded devices**: List of devices to exclude from being monitored. - **Victron venus host name or IP**: Hostname or IP address of Victron Device, usually mDNS name like 'venus.local' - **Operation mode**: Operation mode controls which Home Assistant entity types are created. 'read\_only' exposes only sensors and binary\_sensors (no writable entities), 'full' exposes all entity types (sensors, binary\_sensors, numbers, selects, switches), 'experimental' is reserved for future use (behaves like 'full' today). - **Password**: Password for the Victron Device, default is empty. This is not your VRM password. - **MQTT port**: The MQTT port on the host. Normally it is 1883. - **Optional root topic prefix**: Root topic prefix if used via MQTT gateway. - **Simple naming (no installation id in entity ids)**: Use simple naming for entities, can work only when you have single Cerbo on the network. - **Use SSL**: Indicates whether to use SSL to connect to the Victron Device. Normally it is disabled. - **Manual update frequency (seconds)**: Only used in 'Manual' mode. Update frequency in seconds.
