# Starling Home Hub Integration

> Starling Home Hub Integration is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 178 installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 26, 2026.

Starling Home Hub Integration connects Home Assistant to a Starling Home Hub through the Starling Developer Connect API. It talks to the hub locally and exposes devices as binary sensors, cameras, climate, covers, fans, lights, locks, selects, sensors, switches, vacuums and valves. The newer API version supports a wider range of devices, so non-Nest devices may appear as well. Camera streaming can use RTSP or WebRTC, and WebRTC is preferred where both are enabled; RTSP credentials can be left blank if no authorization is needed. Setup in the UI asks for the local Developer Connect URL and an API key, and Home Assistant can also discover the hub on the network. The project is unaffiliated with Starling and is provided without warranty.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **Found by itself**: Home Assistant spots it on the network and offers to add it.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### Connect

- **Local Developer Connect URL**: Example: http://192.168.1.100:3080/api/connect/v2/
- **API Key**: Ensure you have provided this the permissions required to perform all actions.
- **Enable RTSP Stream**
- **Enable WebRTC Stream**: If both RTSP and WebRTC are enabled, WebRTC will be favored over RTSP where possible. If you have issues with WebRTC then enable RTSP streaming and disable WebRTC.
- **RTSP Username**: Credentials need to be consistent across all cameras. If you do not require authorization for RTSP streaming then leave the fields blank.
- **RTSP Password**

Also asked when changing the connection.

## From the README

> This is a custom integration for Home Assistant for accessing the Starling Home Hub via the Starling Developer Connect API. My work is unaffiliated with Starling LLC. This is for use at your own risk. I don't provide any warranties whatsoever.
>
> Since v2 of the Starling Home Hub API there is now more widespread support for devices, and as such this may now also include non-Nest devices. To turn devices on/off use your Starling Hub App, or disable in Home Asisstant if you want to keep access for HomeKit.
