# Homematic(IP) Local for OpenCCU

> Homematic(IP) Local for OpenCCU is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 10.5k installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 26, 2026.

Homematic(IP) Local for OpenCCU is a custom integration that connects Home Assistant to Homematic(IP) hubs over the local network. It works with OpenCCU, CCU2 and CCU3, Debmatic and Homegear, using local XML-RPC for control and push state updates and JSON-RPC for names and rooms, with no cloud needed. Devices appear on many platforms, including climate, covers, lights, locks, sirens, valves and update entities. CCU programs can be imported as button entities, and system variables can be fetched as well. A built-in sidebar panel edits device configuration values per channel, validates changes before writing them, and can reset parameters to factory defaults. Other parts include services for schedules and climate away mode, repair notices for connection problems, diagnostics, and ready-made automation blueprints for button remotes. It is set up in the Home Assistant interface and needs a CCU account with administrator rights.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **Found by itself**: Home Assistant spots it on the network and offers to add it.
- **Device triggers**: Its devices can start automations directly.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### Advanced settings

- **Callback host (optional)**: IP address for CCU callbacks. Leave empty for auto-detection.
- **Callback port (optional)**: Port for XML-RPC callbacks. Leave empty for automatic assignment.
- **Command retry attempts**: Maximum number of retry attempts for transient command failures (timeout, device unreachable). Set to 0 to disable retry.
- **Command throttle interval**: Minimum delay between device commands in seconds. Set to 0 to disable throttling. Ensures smooth operation for large installations.
- **Disable device configuration panel**: Hide the device configuration panel from the sidebar.
- **Enable system notifications**: Show notifications for connection issues and device errors in Home Assistant.
- **Restore last brightness for lights**: When enabled, lights will turn on with the last non-zero brightness level instead of default 100%.
- **Listen on all network interfaces**: Enable if Home Assistant runs in Docker or a VM. Required when HA's IP differs from the host IP.
- **Enable MQTT**: Required for CUxD and CCU-Jack device support. Requires MQTT broker connected to Home Assistant.
- **MQTT prefix**: MQTT topic prefix configured in CCU-Jack. Leave empty if not using CCU-Jack MQTT bridge.
- **Experimental features**: Enable experimental features to try out new functionality. These features may change or be removed in future versions.
- **Program markers**: Filter programs by marker in description (HAHM, HX, INTERNAL). Leave empty to import all programs.
- **Enable program import**: Import CCU programs as button entities to trigger them from Home Assistant.
- **Create sub-device entities**: Splits devices with multiple channel groups into a main device with sub-devices. Entities are assigned to their corresponding sub-device based on channel group.
- **System variable markers**: Filter system variables by marker in description (HAHM, HX, INTERNAL). Leave empty to import all variables.

### CCU connection

- **CCU hostname/IP address**
- **Integration instance name**: Unique identifier for this Home Assistant installation. Allows multiple Home Assistant instances to connect to the same CCU simultaneously. Has no relation to the CCU hostname/IP. Do not change after setup — entities would be recreated.
- **CCU password**: Case sensitive. Allowed characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and .!$():;\#-
- **Skip automatic backend detection**: Enable this option if you use non-standard ports or if backend detection hangs. You will manually configure interfaces and ports in the next step.
- **CCU username**: Case sensitive. User must have administrator role

### TLS and interface selection

- **Enable Homematic (Bidcos-RF)**
- **Enable BidCos-Wired (HM-Wired)**
- **Enable CCU-Jack**
- **Configure custom ports**: Enable to configure non-standard ports on the next page. Otherwise, ports are automatically set based on TLS setting.
- **Enable CUxD**
- **Enable Homematic IP**
- **Use TLS (encrypted connection)**: Enable TLS for encrypted communication with your CCU.
- **Verify TLS certificate**: Verify the CCU's TLS certificate. Disable for self-signed certificates.
- **Enable groups (heating groups)**

Also asked when changing the connection.

### OpenCCU-Loom daemon (Beta)

- **Daemon hostname/IP address**
- **Integration instance name**
- **Daemon port (blank = 8119)**: Not used when connecting through an openccu-lite box: the box's web server port applies (443 with TLS, 80 without).
- **Use TLS (HTTPS/WSS)**: Only when the daemon serves HTTPS (a certificate is configured in its north.rest.tls settings). Out of the box the daemon serves plain HTTP on 8119; with TLS on against it the connection fails. Through an openccu-lite box, TLS refers to the box's web server instead.
- **Verify TLS certificate**
- **Create sub-device entities**: Splits devices with multiple channel groups into a main device with sub-devices. Entities are assigned to their corresponding sub-device based on channel group.

### Port configuration

- **HM-RF port**: Standard ports: 2001 (non-TLS), 42001 (TLS)
- **BidCos-Wired port**: Standard ports: 2000 (non-TLS), 42000 (TLS)
- **HmIP-RF port**: Standard ports: 2010 (non-TLS), 42010 (TLS)

- **Groups path**
- **Groups port**: Standard ports: 9292 (non-TLS), 49292 (TLS)

### Reauthenticate CCU connection

- **CCU password**: Case sensitive. Allowed characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and .!$():;\#-
- **CCU username**: Case sensitive. User must have administrator role

### Reconfigure connection

- **CCU hostname/IP address**
- **CCU password**: Case sensitive. Allowed characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and .!$():;\#-
