It has 302 installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 15, 2026. Annuals is a Home Assistant integration that tracks yearly-recurring events such as birthdays, holidays and anniversaries. For each event it reports the days until the next occurrence and which occurrence number that will be, for example a 30th birthday. It adds calendars for categories like birthdays, name days, memorials, pet birthdays, holidays and stock exchange closures, plus sensors for several of those event types. Events are added in the UI as yearly, one-time or custom ones, and custom events can repeat every few months or years, or on a chosen weekday of the month. Events can also be flagged as VIP, linked to a person, or marked as deceased. Entries can be imported from CSV, ICS calendar or vCard files, and everything runs locally. No vendor cloud in between. - **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS. - **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months. ## Setting it up Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services. ### Add a yearly event - **Name** - **Last name (optional)** - **Person (optional)**: A person in Home Assistant whose picture stands for this event – on the dashboard card and in the reminder's notification. - **Event type** - **Day** - **Month** - **Year (leave empty if unknown)** - **Icon override (optional)** - **VIP annual** - **Deceased**: The person has died: the day is kept and marked, so the card says what it would have been and your automations can tell it apart. Also asked when changing the connection. ### Add a one-time event - **Name** - **Last name (optional)** - **Event type** - **Day** - **Month** - **Year** - **End date (optional – makes it a multi-day event)** - **Time (optional)**: When it starts on that day. The calendar entry then has a time, and the dashboard card shows it. - **End time (optional)**: When it ends – on the end date if there is one, otherwise the same day. Needs a start time; left empty, the calendar entry is an hour long. - **Icon override (optional)** - **VIP annual** Also asked when changing the connection. ### Add a custom event - **Name** - **Last name (optional)** - **Event type** - **Day** - **Month** - **Year** - **Icon override (optional)** - **VIP annual** - **Repeats every**: Together with the unit beside it – every 6 months, every 2 years. Counted from the date above, which then needs its year. Leave both empty for once a year. - **…months or years** - **Repeats on the**: First, second, third, fourth, or the last one in the month. - **…weekday of the month**: Set this together with the field above, or leave both empty.
