# Media player template

Media player template is a Marketplace integration that creates template-based media player entities in Home Assistant. It adds a media player platform where actions such as turning on and off, play, pause, stop, next, previous, volume up and down, and mute are defined by the user. Templates can supply the title, artist, album, current source, volume, mute state, app name, episode, season, series title and cover image address. The content type can be tv show, music, movie or video, and other details such as artist are shown depending on that value. Actions for setting volume, muting and playing media receive variables such as the volume, the mute state, the media type and the media id. It works locally, and the play media action is noted in the README as not tested.
