# Emerald Hot Water System

Emerald Hot Water System is an integration that connects Emerald hot water heaters to Home Assistant through the vendor's cloud. It adds water heater entities and sensors, and it is configured in the UI with the Emerald account username and password. Options cover how long a connection is kept before reconnecting and the maximum time between data updates before the connection counts as unhealthy. An optional setting creates energy usage sensors that show cumulative kWh for the current day and reset at midnight, so they can be used in the Energy dashboard. Emerald only provides hourly energy data. If Emerald rejects the saved credentials, a notice appears in Settings under Repairs.
