It has 33.4k installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated January 29, 2026. LocalTuya integration handles Tuya-based devices locally from Home Assistant instead of through the cloud. Status changes are pushed from the devices rather than polled, so updates arrive quickly, including when a device is operated by hand. It provides binary sensors, climate, covers, fans, lights, numbers, selects, sensors, switches and vacuums, and supports energy monitoring such as voltage and current on compatible devices. Tuya protocol versions 3.1 to 3.4 are supported. A Tuya IoT Cloud account can optionally be linked to retrieve device local keys, and it is only called at startup or when a key needs updating. Setup runs in the UI, where devices are added and their entities configured, and it also offers a reload action, a datapoint setting action and a diagnostics download.
