# Sky Q

> Sky Q is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 1.2k installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 15, 2026.

Sky Q is a Home Assistant integration that controls a Sky Q set top box as a media player. It adds a media player entity plus sensors for the recording schedule and used storage, and these sensors are available only through UI configuration. It works locally, and Home Assistant can find the box on the network and offer to add it, after which setup asks for a host and a name. Options cover channel sources, programme images, live TV details, live record status, optional switches for channels, and a separate media player for volume control. Further options set the device class for a receiver, a country override, the EPG cache length for the media browser, and custom sources. It supports Sky Q in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Italy, but not Sky Glass or Sky Stream, and the author notes that ongoing support is minimal.
