# Atmoce Battery

> Atmoce Battery is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 68 installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated September 7, 2026.

Atmoce Battery is an integration for local monitoring and control of Atmoce solar and battery systems over Modbus TCP. It adds sensors for grid, solar and battery values, a battery problem indicator, and a button to reset the gateway. Battery control over Modbus can force charge or discharge with a target charge level, a duration, or both, without any account. With an optional atmocecloud.com login it also exposes battery limits and standing policies such as grid charging and export, through numbers, selects and switches. An optional cloud monitoring fallback covers gateway outages and needs partner API keys issued by Atmoce. Setup runs in the UI, where the number of batteries sets capacity and power limits.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### Atmoce Gateway — Connection

- **IP address**
- **Modbus TCP port**
- **Modbus Slave ID (1–247)**: Only change this if your gateway was configured with a non-default Slave ID. Leave it at 1 if unsure.

### Batteries

- **Number of batteries**: Each unit adds 7 kWh, 3.75 kW of charge power and 4.5 kW of discharge power.
- **Enter specifications manually instead**: Tick this for different hardware, or if your inverter caps the total power below the sum of the units.

### Manual battery specs

- **Usable capacity (kWh)**
- **Max continuous charge power (kW)**
- **Max continuous discharge power (kW)**

### atmocecloud.com account (optional)

- **atmocecloud.com email**: The email you sign in with at atmocecloud.com or in the ATMOZEN app.
- **atmocecloud.com password**: The password for that same account. It is stored in your Home Assistant and never appears in diagnostics.

### Cloud monitoring fallback (advanced)

- **Enable Cloud monitoring fallback**: Only turn this on if Atmoce support has given you an app\_key and app\_secret; without them the form will not let you continue.
- **API app\_key (Open API)**: Issued by Atmoce support. It is not your password and cannot be generated from the portal.
- **API app\_secret (Open API)**: Issued together with the app\_key.
- **Modbus failures before Cloud fallback**: How many consecutive Modbus failures before falling back to the Cloud.

### Re-authenticate — gateway IP changed

- **New IP address**
- **Modbus TCP port**

### Battery stack

- **Number of batteries**: Each MS-7K-U unit adds 7 kWh, 3.75 kW of charge power and 4.5 kW of discharge power. An MS-14K-U counts as two units.

### After setup

- **Modbus failures before Cloud fallback**: How many consecutive Modbus failures before falling back to the Cloud.
- **Enable Cloud monitoring fallback**: Only turn this on if you have an app\_key and app\_secret.
- **API app\_key (Open API, optional)**: Requested from Atmoce support. Leave empty if you do not have one.
- **API app\_secret (Open API, optional)**: Issued together with the app\_key. Leave empty if you do not have one.
- **atmocecloud.com email (for battery SOC limits)**: The email you sign in with at atmocecloud.com or in the ATMOZEN app.
- **atmocecloud.com password**: The password for that same account. It comes pre-filled with the stored one: clearing it also clears it from the configuration.

## Entities

- **Binary sensors**: Battery Problem
- **Buttons**: Reset Gateway
- **Numbers**: Forced Target SOC, Forced Duration, Forced Power, Dispatch Power, Charge Limit SOC, Discharge Limit SOC, Backup Reserve SOC, Grid Charge Power, Grid Charge Limit SOC, Export Power, Export Above SOC
- **Selects**: Battery Command, Forced Mode Type, Self-Managed Mode
- **Sensors**: Grid Voltage, Grid Current, Grid Power, Grid Energy Daily, Grid Energy Total, Electricity Sold Daily, Electricity Sold Total, PV Power, PV Energy Daily, PV Energy Total, PV Self Consumption Rate, Battery SOC, and 12 more
- **Switches**: Remote Control, Grid Charging, Export To Grid

## Troubleshooting

- **Diagnostics**: Downloads a diagnostics file to attach to a bug report.

## From the README

> Full local control and monitoring of Atmoce solar + battery systems over Modbus TCP, plus the settings that only exist in the Atmoce portal.
>
> Fully tested and working with the Atmoce MS-7K-U (7 kWh LFP battery). Should be compatible with MC100, MC100-T and MG100 gateways. Try it on your installation and please report back so anything broken can be fixed.
>
> - 24 sensors and a problem binary sensor — grid, solar, battery, plus computed autonomy and self-consumption
> - Battery control over Modbus — force charge or discharge with a target SOC, a duration, or both. Entirely local; no account needed
> - Battery limits — end-of-charge, end-of-discharge and backup reserve, which Modbus does not expose. Needs your ordinary atmocecloud.com login
> - Standing policy — self-powered or time-of-use, grid charging and export, each with its own power cap and SOC bound. Also from the portal
> - Battery count in setup — say how many units you have and capacity and power limits follow, changeable later via Reconfigure without reinstalling
> - Cloud monitoring fallback (optional, rarely needed) if the gateway stops answering over Modbus. Requires partner API keys that Atmoce issues to installers
> - Diagnostics — full state export with credentials and site identity redacted
> - Trilingual — English, Spanish and French, entity names and select options included
