# Optimistic Feedback

> Optimistic Feedback is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 68 installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated September 7, 2026.

Optimistic Feedback updates the Home Assistant interface right after a command, before the device confirms the change. It predicts the outcome of service calls for device types such as lights, switches, covers and fans, and works locally without a cloud service. If the device does not confirm within a configurable revert timeout, the previous state is restored, and a setting of zero turns reverting off. Entities that are unavailable or unknown are never given a predicted state. Configuration covers which entity domains are included, and a filtering mode that either limits feedback to selected entities or applies it to all except those selected. A debounce time sets the minimum gap between predicted updates for the same entity, which reduces flicker from rapid commands. It is set up in the UI.

- **Entity domains to include**
- **Entity filtering mode**: ON = Only selected entities get optimistic feedback OFF = All domain entities except selected ones get optimistic feedback
- **Select entities**: Choose specific entities to include or exclude based on the mode above
- **Debounce time (prevents rapid duplicate updates)**: Minimum time between optimistic updates for the same entity (50-2000ms)
- **Revert timeout**: Seconds to wait for the device to confirm before restoring the previous state. 0 disables reverting.

### After setup

- **Entity domains to include**
- **Entity filtering mode**: ON = Include mode (only selected entities) OFF = Exclude mode (all except selected entities)
- **Debounce time**: Minimum time between updates for the same entity (50-2000ms)
