# Lunar Phase

Lunar Phase is a Home Assistant integration that reports the current phase of the moon and related lunar data. It adds sensors, including a Moon Phase sensor and a Moon Illuminance sensor that gives estimated moonlight in lux using the Krisciunas-Schaefer model. The README also lists moon age, distance in kilometers, illumination fraction, moon rise and set times, and the date and time of the next new moon, full moon, first quarter and third quarter. Moon position is covered too, with altitude, azimuth and parallactic angle, plus the time of the next moon high. It works locally and is set up in the UI with a location name, latitude and longitude, which are pre-filled from the Home Assistant home location. It needs the Marketplace, or HACS on 2026.10 and older.
