# Universal Light Controller

> Universal Light Controller is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 324 installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated January 6, 2025.

Universal Light Controller (UniLED) controls Bluetooth LED controllers locally from Home Assistant. It covers controllers from the LED Chord, LED Hue and BanlanX apps, plus basic support for Hao Deng and Zengge BLE Mesh devices. Entities include lights, scenes, effect speed and length settings, audio input selection, effect type and signal strength sensors, and switches for effect direction and looping. Options cover light type, LED IC type, on/off effects, power on state, retry counter and polling interval. Home Assistant can discover devices on the network, and setup is done in the UI. Each device accepts one Bluetooth connection at a time, so the manufacturer app and Home Assistant cannot be connected together.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### After setup

- **Choose a channel to configure:**
- **Light configuration type**: The light configuration and wiring (refer to the products manual for more details).
- **LED IC type**: The IC type of the LED's connected to the device.
- **LED ordering**
- **Light on/off effect type**: The effect to use when the light is turned on or off.
- **Light on/off effect speed**: The speed of the effect when the light is turned on or off.
- **Light on/off effect, pixels count**: The number of pixels used by the effect when the light is turned on or off.
- **Coexistence of colored and white LED's**: In static modes only, determines if both colored and white LED's coexist or if they are controlled independently.
- **Power on state**: Determines the state of the light when power is applied/restored to the device.
- **Retry Counter**: The number of retrys when attempting to communicate with a device.
- **Polling interval**: The interval in seconds between polling a device for status updates.
- **Username (email)**
- **Password**
- **Country**
