## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### ETA connection

- **Name of the unit**
- **Host**
- **Port**
- **Force old API mode**
- **Enable verbose logging**

### Choose entities

- **Automatically select all discovered entities**
- **Possible sensors**
- **Possible switches**
- **Possible state sensors**
- **Possible writable sensors**
- **Possible pending sensors, which may become available later**

### After setup

- **Action**
- **Name of the unit**
- **Maximum parallel API requests**
- **Sensor update interval (seconds)**
- **Automatically select all discovered entities**
- **Possible sensors**
- **Possible switches**
- **Possible state sensors**
- **Possible writable sensors**
- **Possible pending sensors, which may become available later**
- **HACK: Handle decimal places for these writable sensor values**

## Entities

- **Binary sensors**: State
- **Buttons**: Resend Error Events
- **Sensors**: Number of active errors, Latest active error

## Actions

- **Set value**: Sets the value of an endpoint (Attention: Exercise caution! A wrong value can render your ETA unit unusable.)
Fields: Endpoint URI, Value, Begin, End
- **Set scaled value**: Sets the value of an endpoint, applying the scale factor defined in the ETA API
  Fields: Value, Force decimals
- **Update a timeslot**: Update the begin and end of a timeslot endpoint
  Fields: Begin, End
- **Update a timeslot and its target temperature**: Update the begin, end and temperature of a timeslot endpoint
  Fields: Begin, End, Temperature

## Troubleshooting

- **Diagnostics**: Downloads a diagnostics file to attach to a bug report.
- **Repair notices**: Notices it can show in Settings, Repairs:
Optional: migrate to the name-based scheme (v2)

## From the README

> Home Assistant integration for ETA heating systems (pellet, wood, and combined boilers). It reads sensors, states and counters from your ETA unit, and lets you switch and set writable parameters — all discovered automatically over the local ETA REST API, no cloud required.
>
> - Automatic discovery of every available endpoint on your ETA unit — with live values shown during setup so you can pick the ones you want.
> - Sensors for all numeric values (temperatures, pressures, power, flow, counters, …).
> - State sensors for text states (e.g. Ready, Heating).
> - Switches for on/off parameters, detected language-independently.
> - Writable parameters as number entities for setpoints (°C, kg, %, …).
> - Schedules as time entities (API v1.2+).
> - Error monitoring: a binary sensor for active errors, the active-error count, the latest error message, plus error events for automations.
> - Services to write values directly to the unit (details).
> - Stable entity identities: entity ids stay stable across firmware updates, terminal language changes and IP changes.
> - Energy Dashboard ready (details).
