It has 1.4k installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 18, 2026. LocalThings is an integration that controls Samsung appliances from Home Assistant over the local network, with no cloud account. It covers washers, dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners, ovens and other appliances that work with the SmartThings app, and talks to each one directly. Each appliance becomes a device with entities matched to its type and model, such as sensors, switches, selects, numbers, climate, lights and water heaters. Appliances that support push send changes as they happen, and the rest are polled every 30 seconds. After setup it does not contact Samsung's servers, though adding the first appliance reads a public identifier once. Setup runs in the UI and usually needs only the appliance's IP address, and Home Assistant can also discover appliances on the network. No vendor cloud in between. - **Found by itself**: Home Assistant spots it on the network and offers to add it. - **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS. - **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months. ## Setting it up Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services. ### Add Samsung appliance - **IP address**: Local IP address of your Samsung appliance (e.g. 192.168.1.50). Also asked when at the add samsung appliance step and changing the connection. ### AC14K\_M CA certificate - **CA certificate (PEM)**: The PEM-encoded AC14K\_M CA certificate chain. Paste the full contents of your fullchain PEM including all BEGIN/END CERTIFICATE blocks. - **CA private key (PEM)**: The PEM-encoded AC14K\_M private key.
