# Telegram client

Telegram client is a Marketplace integration that connects Home Assistant to Telegram as a client account or a bot. It relies on Telegram's cloud and is configured in the UI, where it asks for API credentials and either a phone number with a one time password or a bot token. It adds binary sensors and sensors to Home Assistant. The options let the user choose which events to listen for, including new, edited, read and deleted messages, callback queries, inline queries, chat actions and user updates. Each event type can be narrowed by chats, with a blacklist mode, and message events can also be filtered by direction, sender, forwards and a text pattern. Actions are provided to send, edit and delete messages.
