## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **Found by itself**: Home Assistant spots it on the network and offers to add it.
- **Device triggers**: Its devices can start automations directly.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### MiWiFi settings

- **IP address**
- **Password**
- **Password encryption algorithm**
- **Track devices**
- **Minimum stay online in seconds**: Keep a client home for this many seconds after its last observation. Must be at least scan interval + request timeout. Start with 60 s; slow meshes may need more. Larger values delay departure detection.
- **Scan interval in seconds \[PRO\]**: Time between scheduled polls. Requests add time, so actual readings may be farther apart. Lower values increase router load; allow enough presence time for the slowest reporting node.
- **Timeout of requests in seconds \[PRO\]**: How long to wait for a router request. Some endpoints use shorter limits; this is not the maximum duration of a complete poll. It is separate from presence time.
- **WAN speed unit**
- **Forced loading of devices in repeater mode \[PRO\]**
- **Allowed days since last activity \[PRO\]**
- **Log level (global)**
- **Enable control panel**
- **Create device sensors (clients)**
- **Enable port probing (80/443) for device configuration URL**
- **Access point / mesh node (skip WAN and gateway endpoints)**

### Reauthenticate MiWiFi

- **Password**

### After setup

- **Enable control panel**
- **Log level (global)**
- **Auto-purge every X days (0 = disabled) \[PRO\]**
- **Daily auto-purge time (HH:MM) \[PRO\]**
- **Create sensors for connected devices (clients)**
- **IP address**
- **Password**
- **Password encryption algorithm**

## Entities

- **Sensors**: IP address, Connection, Connected time, Download speed, Upload speed, Total usage, Signal, Signal quality, Last activity, First seen, Internet blocked, Wi-Fi protocol, and 2 more

## Actions

- **Generate router dump**: Generates a JSON file with information from the main router.
Fields: Include system data, Include network data, Include connected devices, Include NAT rules, Include QoS configuration, Include Wi-Fi configuration, Anonymize IP/MAC addresses and names, Fresh API queries and responses (main + nodes)
- **Purge inactive devices**: Removes device\_trackers and orphan devices after X days of inactivity.
Fields: Limit to these MAC addresses, Inactivity days, Only randomized MACs, Include orphan devices, Include orphans without timestamp, Detailed mode, Apply changes
- **Get Wi-Fi configuration (panel)**: Returns the current Wi-Fi configuration for the selected router or the main router.
- **Configure Guest Wi-Fi**: Enables or disables guest Wi-Fi and optionally changes its network settings.
- **Test Guest Wi-Fi**: Reads the guest Wi-Fi status from the selected router or the main router.
- **Configure Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G/Game)**: Changes the settings of one or more Wi-Fi bands on the selected router or the main router.

## Troubleshooting

- **Diagnostics**: Downloads a diagnostics file to attach to a bug report.
- **System health**: Adds its status to Home Assistant's system information.
