# Petkit

Petkit is a Home Assistant integration that brings Petkit pet devices into Home Assistant through the vendor's cloud. It exposes feeders, litter boxes, fountains, air purifiers and cameras as binary sensors, buttons, sensors, switches, numbers, selects, texts, lights, fans, images and a camera stream. Commands cover feeding, settings and manual actions, while monitoring covers feeding history, water intake, litter box usage and device health. A Bluetooth relay option lets another Petkit device keep a fountain connected locally. Photos and videos from the devices can be downloaded to a chosen media path, filtered by event type, and deleted after a set number of days; videos need an active Care+ subscription. Live video works from camera devices, with Firefox not supported, and selected Petkit events can raise persistent notifications in Home Assistant. Setup is done in the UI with a Petkit username and password.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

- **Region**: Auto-detected from Home Assistant. Override only if your PetKit account is registered with a different regional server.
- **Timezone**: Auto-detected from Home Assistant. Override if needed.

### After setup

- **Always-on Rebroadcast**: Keep the internal rebroadcast session prewarmed so browser viewing, WHEP clients, and generic stream consumers of this camera can connect quickly. The rebroadcast stream can also be reused by other consumers. This keeps one upstream session alive and uses more device and cloud resources.

- **Enable bluetooth relay**: If disabled, fountain updates will only occur when the device is refreshed via the app.
- **Bluetooth refresh interval (minutes)**
- **Delete media after (days)**: Delete downloaded media after the specified number of days. (0 = never delete)
- **Fetch images**: Download all images from your devices, filtered by the selected events below (no active Care+ subscription required).
- **Fetch videos**: Download all videos from your devices, filtered by the selected events below. (required an active Care+ subscription)
- **Event type for download**
- **Media path**: Path where the media will be stored. If not specified, the media will be stored in /media Home Assistant folder.
- **Media refresh interval (minutes)**: Interval for downloading new media (images and videos) from Petkit's servers.
- **Enabled notifications**: Select which PetKit events should raise a Home Assistant persistent notification. Uncheck a category to silence it in Home Assistant. These categories are independent from the device-side notification switches in the Petkit app.
