# Hydro-Québec

> Hydro-Québec is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 558 installs sharing analytics, needs the vendor's cloud and was last updated October 24, 2026.

Hydro-Québec is an integration that tracks electricity use, billing and peak periods for a Hydro-Québec account. It connects through the vendor's cloud, either by signing in with an account or in a public data mode that needs no login and covers peak alerts only. With an account, it adds sensors for balance, billing period, projected bill, consumption averages and current rate, plus binary sensors for critical peak periods, pre-heating and portal status. Hourly consumption history can be imported for the Energy dashboard, with a choice of how many days to bring in. For the peak-based rates, a dedicated calendar stores peak events, and a service can create a critical peak event by hand. A pre-heat duration and the data update interval can be adjusted, and several contracts can be managed, such as a home and a cottage. It is set up in the UI and is developed independently of Hydro-Québec.

- **Contract Name**: A friendly name for this contract (e.g., 'Home', 'Cottage')

### Select Contract

- **Contract**: Select the contract you want to add to Home Assistant

### Configure Pre-heat Duration

- **Pre-heat Duration (minutes)**: Duration before critical peak events to trigger pre-heating (0-240 minutes, default: 120)

### Calendar Configuration (Required)

- **Calendar Entity**: Select a dedicated calendar entity for peak events. This calendar will store all peak periods.

Also asked when at the calendar configuration (required) step.

### Import Consumption History

- **Days of History to Import**: Number of days to import (0-800). Set to 0 to sync only the last 30 days, or enter a value for older history.

### OpenData Mode - Select Sector

- **Customer Sector**: Select whether you are a residential or commercial customer

### After setup

- **Update Interval (seconds)**: How often to fetch data from Hydro-Québec (30-600 seconds)
- **Pre-heat Duration (minutes)**: Duration before critical peak events to trigger pre-heating (0-240 minutes)
- **Enable consumption synchronization**: Enable to sync hourly consumption data for the energy dashboard. Requires integration reload to take effect.
- **Calendar Entity**: Calendar entity for peak events (DPC/DCPC rates only). Required for peak sensors to work.
