It has 2k installs sharing analytics, needs the vendor's cloud and was last updated October 4, 2026. Deutscher Wetterdienst is a custom integration that brings DWD weather measurements and forecasts into Home Assistant. Data comes from the DWD Open Data server and is exposed through weather entities for a chosen weather station. The current weather entity carries measurements such as temperature, dew point, humidity, pressure, visibility, cloud coverage and wind values. Hourly forecasts come from the station data, while daily forecasts are calculated by the component from the hourly ones, using daily highs, lows, sums and averages. It downloads new data only when the data has changed, which allows polling about every 10 minutes at low load. Setup is done in the UI, where the station, the source of the current weather and the use of forecast data can be chosen, and the project is not affiliated with DWD.
