# Kwikset Smart Locks

> Kwikset Smart Locks is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 548 installs sharing analytics, needs the vendor's cloud and was last updated April 28, 2026.

Kwikset Smart Locks is a custom integration that controls and monitors Kwikset smart locks through the Kwikset cloud API. It adds a lock entity with remote lock and unlock, plus sensors for battery level, last lock event, user and method, and access code count. Switches cover the LED indicator, audio feedback, secure screen and auto lock. Actions manage access codes on a lock, including create, edit, enable, disable, delete and list, and also invite, update, delete and list home users. Status comes from cloud polling at a configurable interval, since no local control is offered, and sign-in supports multi-factor verification by email or SMS. It is added as a custom repository in the Marketplace and set up in the UI.

## Supports

- **Uses the vendor's cloud**: Needs an internet connection and an account with the vendor.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Add its repository to the Marketplace as a custom repository and install it, then restart Home Assistant and add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### Sign in to Kwikset

- **Email**: The email address used for your Kwikset account
- **Password**: Your Kwikset account password
- **Save password for automatic re-authentication**: If enabled, your password will be stored to automatically re-authenticate when your session expires. If disabled, you will need to manually re-authenticate.

Also asked when signing in again and changing the connection.

### Multi-Factor Authentication

- **Verification Code**: The 6-digit code sent to your device

Also asked when at the multi-factor authentication step.

### Select Home

- **Home**: Select the Kwikset home containing your smart locks

### Verification Code Delivery

- **Delivery method**: Select whether to receive the code via email or SMS

Also asked when at the verification code delivery step.

### After setup

- **Polling interval (seconds)**: How often to poll the Kwikset cloud for device status (30-900 seconds). Lower values provide faster updates but may increase API load and reduce battery life.
