# Emporia EV Charger

> Emporia EV Charger is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 84 installs sharing analytics, needs the vendor's cloud and was last updated September 4, 2026.

Emporia EV Charger is a HACS integration that brings an Emporia Level 2 EV charger into Home Assistant. It adds a switch to start and stop charging and a number control for the charge rate in amps, with the minimum and maximum read from the charger. Sensors report power, energy and status, a binary sensor shows whether a vehicle is plugged in, and a vehicle battery sensor appears when a vehicle is linked in the Emporia app. Every charger on the account is discovered after one login and shows up as its own device. Sign-in works with email and password, or through Google or Apple in the browser. The integration is cloud-only because the charger has no local API, so it needs an internet connection. Options cover adaptive polling that speeds up while charging, idle and charging poll intervals, and a default charge rate.

## From the README

> A custom HACS integration that brings your Emporia Level 2 EV charger into Home Assistant: start and stop charging, set the charge rate, monitor power draw and status, and wire everything into your automations.
>
> Cloud-only. The Emporia charger has no local API. This integration connects to api.emporiaenergy.com using the same AWS Cognito credentials as the official app. A working internet connection is required.
>
> - 🔌 One login → all chargers auto-discovered, each as its own device
> - 🎛️ Charging switch: start/stop, optimistic (responds instantly)
> - 🎚️ Charge-rate slider: amperage, min/max read from the charger
> - 📊 Power / Energy / Status sensors + a Plugged-in binary sensor
> - 🚗 Vehicle battery sensor when a vehicle is linked in the Emporia app
> - 🔁 Adaptive polling: faster while charging, relaxes when idle (configurable)
> - 🔑 Sign in three ways: email and password, Sign in with Google, or Sign in with Apple
> - 🔐 Reauth-in-place on token expiry; refresh token persisted across restarts
> - ⚡ Async throughout: one batched cloud call per poll cycle, with retry on transient blips
