# Device Tools

> Device Tools is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 555 installs sharing analytics and was last updated October 20, 2026.

Device Tools is a custom integration that changes devices and entities provided by other integrations. It can edit device attributes such as manufacturer, model, and software version, and assign entities like template sensors or helpers to the device they describe. It can also create new devices, merge several devices by moving their entities onto one device, and change the device or entity category of a single entity. Each modification is its own entry, and it remembers original values, so deleting or disabling it restores them. When an integration updates its devices, the modification is applied again, and a repair issue appears if a referenced device or entity is gone. It is added as a custom repository in the Marketplace and set up in the UI.
