# Material Symbols

> Material Symbols is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 2.9k installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 24, 2026.

Material Symbols is an integration that adds Google Material Symbols as icons for use in Home Assistant. It draws on the icon set produced and maintained by iconify, and works locally. The icons come in six styles: outlined, rounded and sharp, each with a filled variant, and each style has its own prefix. An icon is chosen by writing the prefix and icon name in an entity configuration, in YAML or in the frontend editor. A separate icon finder tool lets the user search by keyword and copy the matching icon entry. It is set up in the UI and needs the Marketplace, or HACS on 2026.10 and older.
