# BYD HVS Battery

> BYD HVS Battery is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 372 installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 26, 2026.

BYD HVS Battery is an integration that reads data from a BYD HVS battery system over the local network. It adds sensors for state of charge, battery voltage, current, power, and the highest and lowest cell voltage and temperature. Individual cell voltages and temperatures can be shown, and tower information can be switched on or off. An aggregation option combines each module into one entity, with its cell values held as attributes such as lists, maximum, minimum and average, which reduces the entity count. The polling interval can be changed, and the options can be adjusted later from the integration's settings. Setup is done in the Home Assistant UI with the battery's IP address and port.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

## From the README

> This custom integration allows you to monitor and interact with your BYD HVS Battery system through Home Assistant. It provides real-time data on battery status, cell voltages, temperatures, and more.
>
> - Real-Time Monitoring: Access live data from your BYD HVS Battery system, including State of Charge (SOC), voltages, currents, and temperatures.
> - Cell-Level Details: Monitor individual cell voltages and temperatures for detailed analysis.
> - Customizable Scan Interval: Configure how frequently the integration polls data from the battery.
> - Error Handling: Detailed error messages and robust handling of connection issues.
> - Firmware Update Check (optional): Two update entities show whether BYD offers newer BMU/BMS firmware. They are disabled by default; enabling them makes Home Assistant contact a BYD server once a…
> - Module Aggregation (new) Each module is represented as a single entity containing all cell values as attributes:
> - State: Total summed module voltage (mV)
> - Attributes:
> - cell\_voltages: list of all cell voltages
> - cell\_temperatures: list of all cell temperatures
> - max\_voltage, min\_voltage, avg\_voltage
> - max\_temperature, min\_temperature, avg\_temperature
