## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### Add a custom universal media player

- **Name**: The name to assign to the player.
- **Child media players**: Can be left empty. Ordered list of child media players that this entity will control.

### Edit device class

- **Device class**: The device class that this entity represents.

### Configure attributes - Custom (YAML)

- **Attributes (YAML)**: Attributes that can be overridden. Most, if not all, media player attributes can be overridden.

### Configure commands - Custom (YAML)

- **Commands (YAML)**: Media player commands to be overridden. Almost all media player action commands may be overridden.

### Edit children

- **Child media players**: Can be left empty. Ordered list of child media players that this entity will control.

### Advanced configuration

- **Browse media entity**: Allows override the browse media entity to desired media player. Only affects browsing the media library - playback is still sent to the active child (or the play\_media command override, if set).
- **Active child template**: A template that will allow you to select (override) active child. Must return the entity\_id of the child selected as active, or None to use the default behavior.
- **State template**: A template can be specified to render the state of the media player. In this way, the state may depend on entities that are not themselves media players, like switches or input booleans.
