# Adaptive Lighting

> Adaptive Lighting is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 17.4k installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated October 26, 2026.

Adaptive Lighting adjusts light brightness and color temperature based on the sun's position. It adds switches to Home Assistant for turning adaptation on or off, for sleep mode, and for brightness and color adaptation separately. Sleep mode sets lights to a low brightness and a warm color, and the sleep values can be configured. When a light is changed by hand or by an automation, it is marked as manually controlled and left alone until it is turned off and on or reset with a service call. Further actions apply the current settings to lights and change switch settings, and an option can detect changes made outside Home Assistant. It works locally and is set up in the UI, with options for interval, transition, and brightness and color temperature limits.

## From the README

> Adaptive Lighting is a custom component for Home Assistant that intelligently adjusts the brightness and color of your lights 💡 based on the sun's position, while still allowing for manual control.
>
> By automatically adapting the settings of your lights throughout the day, Adaptive Lighting helps maintain your natural circadian rhythm 😴, which can lead to improved sleep, mood, and overall well-being. Experience cooler color temperatures at noon, gradually transitioning to warmer colors at sunset and sunrise.
