# Chauffage

> Chauffage is a Marketplace integration for Home Assistant. It has 70 installs sharing analytics, works locally and was last updated November 4, 2026.

Chauffage adds weekly heating schedules to Home Assistant thermostats, with named schedules and a visual editor card. Schedules such as Normal, Remote work or Holidays each hold a week per thermostat, and one schedule is active at a time, switchable from the card or an automation. It works with thermostats without presets, thermostats with presets, and Versatile Thermostat, and an option decides whether the thermostats' own presets are used or temperatures set in the card. A manual setpoint change is kept as a temporary override for a configurable duration, then the thermostat returns to its schedule. Actions can set or clear an override, activate a schedule by id, and return schedules or weekly slots for scripts. It runs locally, is set up from the UI, and provides binary sensors, selects, sensors and switches.

## Supports

- **Works locally**: Talks to your devices on your own network. No vendor cloud in between.
- **From the Marketplace**: Installed through the Marketplace, formerly HACS.
- **Actively maintained**: Its author released or pushed a change in the last six months.

## Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

### After setup

- **Override duration**: How long an override lasts, for example after a manual change, before the thermostat goes back to its schedule.
- **Use the thermostats' presets**: A preset uses the thermostat's own preset with the same name when it has one (Versatile Thermostat: comfort, eco, boost, frost). Turned off, every thermostat is driven by temperatures, set in the Chauffage panel (Presets tab).
- **Show Chauffage in the sidebar**: For administrators. Turned off, you still open the Chauffage panel from the cards and from a scheduled thermostat's device (Visit).

  Fields: Thermostat
- **Activate a schedule**: Activates a schedule by its id, which does not change when the schedule is renamed.
  Fields: Schedule id
- **Get schedules**: Gives the schedules (id, name, switch), the active one, and the one the activation rules give, for scripts.
- **Get week**: Gives each thermostat's week in a schedule (the active one by default): each day's slots, with their start, end and preset, for scripts.
  Fields: Thermostats, Schedule id

## Troubleshooting

- **Diagnostics**: Downloads a diagnostics file to attach to a bug report.
- **Repair notices**: Notices it can show in Settings, Repairs:
